Viktor Láznička is the youngest participant of the tournament. He is the Czech 2006 Champion and regularly represents the country in all top events. On the 2006 Olympiad he scored 7.5 points out of ten games on board four with the performance of 2711. This year he performed excellent results in the prestigious Aeroflot Open in Moscow as well as in the individual European championship where he qualified for the incoming World Cup. In July 2007 he ended 2nd in the Czech Open tournament in Pardubice.
